What is Sports Psychotherapy?

Sports psychotherapy blends talking therapy with an understanding of how the mind and body interact under pressure. In a supportive, confidential space, we explore the thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations that influence your performance and wellbeing.

Together, we uncover patterns such as self-doubt, perfectionism, or fear of failure, helping you develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and balance. Unlike traditional coaching, sports psychotherapy looks beneath the surface, recognising how your experiences in sport and everyday life are deeply connected.

This holistic approach can help you build resilience, recover from setbacks, and reconnect with the enjoyment and authenticity in your sport — helping you perform at your best while feeling more like yourself.

How Would I Work With You?

As a trained Psychotherapist and Psychology Coach for golfers, I draw on my background from past experience in playing various sports, as well as leading sports in schools to support athletes in exploring the powerful connection between mind, body, and performance. Having experienced the highs, lows and challenges of sport firsthand, I understand how confidence, motivation, and emotional wellbeing all shape how we perform and feel.

My approach is holistic and collaborative, offering a calm, supportive space to explore what may be holding you back — whether that’s performance anxiety, past injury, self-doubt, or a loss of enjoyment. By integrating psychological insight with body awareness, I can help you build resilience, self-understanding, and a more balanced, authentic relationship with your sport.
